The Norwegian tax system is changing as a result of the OECD’s base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) initiative and the need to adapt the way national taxes are levied to the global economy.

Amongst other Norway has introduced interest deduction limitations rules and rules to neutralise hybrid mismatch arrangement in certain situations. Other changes are in the pipeline, and we are closely monitoring the development internationally together with our PwC-colleagues worldwide.

Next step in Norway is the Committee on Finance’ Recommendation to the Storting on the 2016 Tax with deadline on the 12th of April 2016.

The hottest topics in Norway has been introduction of withholding taxes on interest and royalty, tightening of the interest deduction limitation rule, further rules to combat hybrid mismatch arrangements and implementation of the changes to the OECD Transfer Pricing guidelines and documentation requirements.

We are happy to discuss with you how the BEPS project may affect your business in Norway, now or in the future.
